New Orleans is in Louisiana, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Traffic in New Orleans peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I was a little heartbroken that once again we made it to the French Market right before everything started closing! 😭 We arrived around 4:30 PM, but quite a few vendors were already packing up and closing for the day. Thankfully, we were still able to walk around and check out a few of the vendors that were open. It was a really nice market with lots to see, and I can definitely see why it’s a popular stop in NOLA. Next time, we’re coming MUCH earlier so we can actually experience the whole thing! 😂⚜️

The place is cool if you looking for souvenirs. You can definitely feel the NOLA vibes. Surprisingly the restrooms are clean. The area is well maintained lots of vendors and people are friendly. The area is cooler than standing out in the street. You will sweet a little bit but it’s manageable.

French Market was amazing! So much to see, experience, and buy. There was a live jazz band, restaurants, art, jewelry, clothing and accessories. But we love food most, so here’s what we got from where N’Awlins (our fave): Gator on a stick, frog legs, gator po’ boy, gator bites, shrimp-n-grits Holy Crepes! : Frozen Cold Brew (not pictured but so good, and not bitter like a lot of cold brews) and Frozen Basil Lemonade Loretta’s: Praline Beignets (seriously delicious) Pictures were taken when we got back, but the atmosphere serves perfect for enjoying on site

First time visiting. Came around 5:30 on a Tuesday night. I stopped by about 30 minutes before closing and was still able to find some really nice shirts for my family. I expected it to be loud and crowded, especially that close to closing time, but it actually wasn’t bad at all. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the vendors were super friendly and easygoing. I’d definitely recommend coming here just to walk around and hang out. It’s also a great spot for souvenirs—that’s what brought me in the first place. One tip: bring cash if you can, since taxes and fees can add up. You can also ask vendors if they accept Cash App, Zelle, or Venmo—some of them do.

A must-visit spot when you’re in the city!
